OUR DISTINCTIVES

WE CONFORM TO THE BIBLE

We strive to be God-centered in all that we do. Our focus on God compels us to study the Bible, discover its truth, unify in our understanding, and actively live out its gospel message. God knows how community should function, and we seek His design in all that we do. The Bible defines and guides authentic community and how we should live. We approach the Bible from a historically orthodox viewpoint and value the wisdom of faithful followers who have come before us. We want to search out its principles and model our lives after the Godliness we find in the pages of the Bible. We desire to be faithful and challenge our brothers and sisters to hold us accountable to lives that model its truth.

WE radiate grace

We are redeemed by the sacrifice of our redeemer, Jesus. This good news unifies our group and underlines all that we do. 

We are honest. The message of God’s good news to us begins in our failure. We can not live up to God’s standard. We all need Jesus. Because we all meet Jesus with this continual need, we are free to be honest with each other. Honest people admit their brokenness, ask forgiveness, and invite accountability. 

We extend grace. Repentance and grace preserve the unity of a community of broken people. We are not perfect, but when we fail, we seek reconciliation and extend grace as it has been extended to us.

WE SEE THE NEED

Service to others is the outworking of the gospel in our lives. God’s love compels us to love others. We want to recognize others on campus and in the community, hear their hearts, serve their needs, and invite them into gospel life and God-centered community with us.

WE PRAY FIRST

We recognize that we will only make a difference when we lean on God’s power to accomplish what he has prepared for our lives. Alone we can do nothing and are, therefore, driven to pray that God will empower the work and the walk of our community.

WE INVEST IN COMMUNITY

We know why we come together (God’s Grace alone) and our gratitude causes us to be purposeful, maintaining our focus and unity in faithfulness to the Bible. We come together to celebrate and grow in our understanding and commitment to Jesus in order to then share the truth we know with others, serve them in Jesus’ name, and invite them to join us in following Him with all of our life.

WE EQUIP TO GO

We serve a sending God. We are all senders and sent and must be ready. As a community, we equip and train others in all that we do, so that when God calls one of us to serve him elsewhere in His kingdom, our church will continue to gather, grow, and send God’s people to join Him as He changes the world.
